•Ferne Terry Schanbacher, age 91, of Mansfield, PA, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, died at Metrowest Medical Center, Framingham, Massachusetts, on Friday, April 12, 2013. She was born December 2, 1921, in East Mauch Chunk, PA, the daughter of Russell B. and Eva May Souders Terry. Ferne is survived by two sons, Terry L. of Northfield, CT and Robert L. of Cogan Station, PA; two daughters, Sandra L. Beagan of Mansfield, MA and Jill A. Howarth of Westborough, MA; 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Gerry; two sons, Ronald L. and Richard D.; sisters, Arabelle Edwards, Marlea Thomas and brother, Russell A. Terry. Ferne was a graduate of Mansfield State Teachers College (Mansfield University), a member of the class of 1943 where in addition to excelling in her studies she also was a member of the Women's Athletic Association and a cheerleader for 4 years. A home economics major, she taught in Mauch Chunk during the war. She was a member of the Mansfield First United Methodist Church where she was very active in the life of the church, serving as a Sunday School teacher and a member of the United Methodist Women. She also was a member of the Eastern Star. Ferne returned to teaching in 1966 and continued on as a fifth grade science teacher at the Warren L. Miller School until she retired in 1987. Friends are invited to call at the Gary Wilston Funeral Home & Cremation Service 130 S. Main St. Mansfield, PAThursday 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Mansfield, Friday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Dr. Jon West officiating. Burial in East Point Cemetery.  • Karen K. Ward Hartman, age 56, of Tioga, PA, died at her home on April 25, 2013 after an extended illness.  She was born at Soldiers and Sailors Hospital in Wellsboro, PA, on January 26, 1957, the daughter of Frank and Jean Hatfield Ward.  Karen graduated from Williamson High School and Corning Community College, and was a retired rural mail carrier.  She was a very dedicated Salvation Army worker for many years.  She was extremely devoted to her family and is survived by her companion, Rick Hess, mother, Jean Ward of Tioga, PA, son, Brady Ward Hartman and companion Amy Palski of Williamsport, PA, uncle and aunt, Dick and Mary Lou Hatfield and family of Montana, special cousin, Linda Cicero of South Ozone Park, NY, cousins, Jewel, Heather, and Philip Bruce of Tioga, PA, other cousins and friends.  She was predeceased by her father, Frank Ward on December 20, 2006.  In keeping with Karen’s wishes, there will be no services.  Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Tioga.  Memorial donations may be made to the Tioga Firemen’s Ambulance Association P.O. • Marion D. Gulliver, 91, of Wellsboro, PA, passed away May 12, 2013 at the Green Home Inc., Wellsboro.  She was born January 25, 1922 in Wellsboro, the daughter of Samuel & Ida VanWert Clemens.  Marion is survived by a son, Johnny Gulliver of Mansfield, PA, a daughter, Arlene Clements of Wellsboro, 7 grandchildren, & several great grandchildren, & great great grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her husband, Orison in 2002, her son, Arthur, in 2008, & 3 brothers, Homer, Lloyd & Lawrence Clemens.  Friends are invited to call at the Gary Wilston Funeral Home & Cremation Service 130 S.
