Clarice S. Evans, 77, of Mansfield, PA, March 11, 2003, at home, following a courageous battle with cancer.  She was born April 6, 1925 in Mansfield, PA, the daughter of Albert & Gladys Mudge Stilwell.  Clarice was a retired Mansfield University Librarian.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mansfield, a life member of the Tioga County Historical Society, the Mansfield Free Public Library 1901 Society, and a rug-braiding group.  Clarice took great interest in her family, traveling, & genealogy.  She acted as a mentor for many area residents interested in genealogy.  Mrs Evans is survived by her husband of 55 years, Leslie, a daughter & son-in-law, Paula & Bruce Hustead of Frederick, MD, a sister, Ninita (Bryce) Jones of Millerton, PA, 3 brothers, Arthur Stilwell of Painted Post, NY, Merle (Eleanor) Stilwell of Indiana, PA, Donald (JoAnn) Stilwell of Millerton, PA, a granddaughter, Christy (Don) Barnes of Oviedo, FL, & 2 great grandchildren, Maddie & Max Barnes.  She was predeceased by a daughter & son-in-law, Nancy & Michael Sabo, a sister, Lois Wilcox, & a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Stilwell.  Friends are invited to call at the Gary Wilston Funeral Home 18 N. Lyle Edwards, 79, of Mansfield, PA, October 14, 2003 at home.  He was born May 27, 1924 in Arnot, PA, the son of James & Florence Wheeler Edwards.  Lyle was predeceased by his wife, the former Betty Purvis in February 2001.  They were the retired owners of the Ponda Rosa Motel & Restaurant in Mansfield.  They previously owned the Halfway Sinclair in Blossburg, the Candlelight Inn in Ralston and the Clover Farm Grocery Store in Arnot.  Lyle was also a well-known painting contractor throughout Tioga County.  He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during WWII in the Western Pacific Theater.  He was awarded the American Theater Service Medal, the Pacific Theater Medal with one bronze star, the Victory Medal & the Good Conduct Medal.  Lyle was a member of Bloss Lodge # 350 F&AM for 56 years, the Arnot Presbyterian Church, and VFW Post 5625, Chiefland, FL.  He is survived by 1 daughter & son-in-law, Cindy & Daniel Davis of Arnot, PA, 3 sons & daughters-in-law, James III & Connie of Moscow, PA, L. David & Michelle of Mansfield, PA, Fred K. & Susan of Morrisdale, PA, 9 grandchildren, Timothy Davis & Kristine L. Hall of Elmira, NY, Chad Edwards of Pittsburgh, PA, Stacy Zieloft of State College, PA, Jamie, Jennifer & David Lyle Edwards all of Mansfield, PA, Fred L. & Jace B. Dr. Thomas D. Shirley L. Enderle, 72, of Tioga, PA, passed away peacefully after a prolonged battle with oral cancer on February 5, 2008. She was born March 5, 1935 in Wellsboro, PA, the daughter of Stephen & Louise Ingerick Monks. Shirley retired from the Northern Tioga Schools. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Ronald, 5 daughters & sons-in-law, Marlene & Phil Douglas of Alma, GA, Sylvia & David Loveland of Lawrenceville, PA, Ronda & Stan Heinrich of Covington, PA, Ruby & Barney Bentley of Tioga, PA, Cindy Person & Ron Chaapel of Canton, PA, her brother Dale (Janet) Monks of Wellsboro, PA, her step sister, Linda (Bob) Smith of Mansfield, PA, 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, several step grand and great grand children.
